General Car Seat Safety Guidelines:

  1. Everyone can benefit from professional car seat installation help.
  2. Car seats can be installed with either the vehicle’s seat belt or the car seat’s LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system. B0th are equally safe when installed correctly.
  3. The safest place in the car for a child is the middle of the back seat.
  4. Rear facing car seats are for children up to 22 to 35 pounds and 26 to 35 inches depending on the model.

Never use a car seat that:

  1. Is too old.
  2. Has any visible cracks.
  3. Does not have a label with the date of manufacture and model number.
  4. Does not come with instructions.
  5. Is missing parts.
  6. Was recalled.
  7. Has been in a moderate or severe crash.
