General Car Seat Safety Guidelines:
- Everyone can benefit from professional car seat installation help.
- Car seats can be installed with either the vehicle’s seat belt or the car seat’s LATCH (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) system. B0th are equally safe when installed correctly.
- The safest place in the car for a child is the middle of the back seat.
- Rear facing car seats are for children up to 22 to 35 pounds and 26 to 35 inches depending on the model.
Never use a car seat that:
- Is too old.
- Has any visible cracks.
- Does not have a label with the date of manufacture and model number.
- Does not come with instructions.
- Is missing parts.
- Was recalled.
- Has been in a moderate or severe crash.
